Description

Foundry10 is a philanthropic educational research organization that works to directly benefit kids and expand the way people think about learning. We do this through applied research, youth programming, and collaborative philanthropy. Our work spans diverse areas of education — including the arts, tech, academics, marine science, and vocations — and engages youth of all ages.

We seek an experienced writer and editor to support the end-to-end development of purpose-driven, compelling copy for digital content, including white papers, web pages, social media, blog posts, video scripts, e-newsletters, and more. This role will join our in-house team of creative storytellers and collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to make foundry10’s work more accessible, engaging, and valuable to our primary audiences of educators, researchers, students, and parents.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with excellent project management skills and a deep understanding of the latest trends in social media, SEO, and digital marketing copywriting. They will possess strong attention to detail and have extensive experience editing and rewriting verbiage for clarity, accuracy, and consistency.

This is a full-time, temp-to-hire position with a salary of $6,500/month, reporting to the Communications Director. After an initial period of three months, this role will be evaluated for the possibility of transitioning to a full-time position with benefits.

Candidates must reside in Washington State and be eligible to work in the United States. Foundry10 is currently operating on a four-day work week and staff are working remotely. However, we plan to adopt a hybrid schedule in early 2022 — with staff working in our Seattle office for at least half of their regularly scheduled hours. We require all employees at foundry10 be fully vaccinated, unless they have an approved medical or religious accommodation.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to create, refine, and deliver engaging copy for a wide variety of digital content formats, including white papers, web pages, social media, blog posts, video scripts, e-newsletters, and more
  • Manage foundry10’s social media editorial calendar for Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram (collaborating with staff artists to develop visual assets)
  • Track and report on key performance metrics for foundry10’s social media
  • Review existing web pages, reports, and other evergreen written content to suggest rewrites, edits, and content divisions to maximize accessibility and value (including SEO improvements)
  • Support the development, rollout, and management of standard copywriting style guidance for the organization
  • Pitch and advocate for fresh content ideas and opportunities for enhancing the organization’s content creation culture and processes

To be considered for this position, please send your resume, a cover letter, and three writing samples to jobs@foundry10.org.
